Lumiflux connects to the fiber-optic port on the camera waterproof housing via a fiber-optic cable, enabling wireless flash triggering.
For wide-angle photography, when the Apollo and Lumiflux were positioned at 90 degrees to each other, wireless triggering was possible from roughly 15 meters.
Even at a 180-degree position between the Lumiflux and the Apollo, wireless triggering was still reliable up to about 3 meters.
Lumiflux: The Future of Wireless Underwater Photography
A few years ago, Marelux revolutionized the diving world by introducing the Apollo III—the industry's first wireless triggering strobe. Underwater photographers instantly fell in love with the freedom of shooting without fiber optic cables. By allowing strobes to be placed in completely unconventional positions, this innovation opened up a whole new world of creative possibilities for underwater imaging.
However, dedicated users also shared valuable feedback. Some found that the 2 to 3-meter working distance of the LumiLink 2.0 was occasionally limiting. Others felt that since the LumiLink was strictly a wireless transmitter, carrying it as a single-purpose piece of extra gear did not fully justify its price point.
Marelux listened. Based on this direct user feedback, we are proud to introduce Lumiflux—a next-generation wireless strobe signal transmitter that is significantly more powerful than its predecessor and packed with multi-functional capabilities.
Lumiflux combines 2 major functions into one compact device:
1. Long-Range Wireless Triggering: It triggers Apollo strobes from an impressive underwater distance of up to 13 meters. Within a 3-meter range, it offers a wide 180-degree effective angle. This means strobes can be placed anywhere within that coverage area without needing to align the receiving sensor directly with the transmitter. [3]
2. Dual-Color Target Light: It doubles as a powerful 1,000-lumen focus light, featuring both white and red beam options.
Marelux has successfully engineered this powerhouse combination into an incredibly small, lightweight body. Best of all, Lumiflux is priced similarly to a standard target light or torch from other manufacturers. By giving you two major bonus functions for the price of one, it lightens both your underwater gear load and your financial investment.
It seamlessly brings wireless control to both your strobes and, making underwater photography more creative, efficient, and accessible than ever before.
