The Apollo S features a spherical dome window. The spherical interface allows light to pass through the water-glass boundary at near-normal incidence, 

greatly reducing refraction deviation and interfacial reflection losses. It eliminates the central over-brightness and edge brightness falloff inherent to flat windows, with smooth and natural light-shadow transitions, ensuring uniform exposure in both macro and wide-angle shooting scenarios.

The Apollo S 2.0 strobe is specially designed for frequent travelers who demand massive power for both wide-angle and macro shooting. This versatile, budget-friendly product fits almost all underwater photography needs while maintaining an incredibly compact body.

  1. Ultra-Compact Design: Measuring just 160 x 70mm (6.3” x 2.75”), it weighs 720g (1.59 lbs) in air and only 150g (0.33 lbs) in water. Delivering a GN36 rating, a 120° beam angle, a 0.9-second recycle time, and 800+ full-power flashes on just two 18650 lithium batteries, its size-to-performance ratio is unmatched on the market.
  2. Compact Yet Powerful: Do not let its small footprint fool you. With a GN36 rating and a 120° coverage angle, only a few oversized strobes can outperform this beautiful beast.
  3. Wireless Remote Triggering: Featuring Marelux’s internationally patented wireless system, users can place strobes far from the housing without fiber optic cables. Using Marelux transmitters like the LumiLink, LumiFlux, or the latest Artemis 4500RMT 2.0, you can trigger and sync strobes from 13–15 meters away at depths of 10–20 meters. In MTL mode, the Apollo S 2.0 fires at 20fps without missing a single frame, maintaining perfectly consistent brightness. Remarkably, it achieves this high-speed performance at GN20—an output level where competing strobes require a 2-to-4-second recycle time. With a blazing-fast recycle time of 0.05 seconds at GN20, the Apollo S 2.0 is 6 to 10 times faster than its competitors, enabling photographers to capture split-second animal behaviors.
  9. Double-Sealed Isolated Battery Chamber: The Apollo S 2.0 retains its signature isolated battery chamber design. In the rare event of a chamber flood, water is completely blocked from entering the main electronics body, ensuring repairs remain simple and inexpensive. The chamber cap features a rugged, mechanical design secured by a heavy-duty 6mm stainless steel screw. This tool-free reliability is crucial for photographers traveling to remote destinations.
  10. Economical, User-Replaceable 18650 Batteries: Unlike competing brands that rely on expensive, proprietary battery packs, the Apollo S 2.0 is powered by two standard 18650 lithium batteries. Proprietary packs are costly and prone to failure; if a pack dies in the field, you are stranded. Independent 18650 cells can be swapped instantly, saving money and eliminating manufacturer shipping delays.
  11. Versatile Battery Compatibility & Long Life: The battery chamber natively accommodates various 18650 cell lengths ranging from 65mm to 69mm. This solves a major industry headache, as 18650 sizes vary globally due to regional safety laws regarding built-in protection chips. Because the Apollo S 2.0 features integrated protection circuitry inside the main strobe body, you can safely use both protected and unprotected cells. Two 18650 batteries yield a compact footprint while delivering over 850 full-power flashes—more than enough for a full day of 3 to 4 intensive dives.
  12. Ultra-Durable Proprietary Flash Tubes: The flash tubes feature a proprietary material blend. Standard flash tubes degrade after 30,000 to 50,000 full-power flashes due to anode and cathode evaporation, causing the internal glass to cloud over and drop significantly in brightness (often turning a yellow-brown color). In contrast, Marelux tubes are built for extreme longevity. Rigorous testing showed that even after 1 million full-power shots fired at 5-second intervals, the tubes remained perfectly clear with zero clouding or color shifting, maintaining a true GN36 output.
  13. Tactile Ergonomics for Blind Operation: Equipped with oversized dials, the strobe can be easily adjusted even when wearing thick 5mm to 7mm gloves in freezing polar waters. For maximum efficiency, the left mode dial is rounded while the right power dial is flat. This structural variance allows photographers to change settings entirely by feel without taking their eyes off the subject. Every adjustment is confirmed by an audible beep.
